Join us for the 53rd Anniversary Celebration of Justice, an evening to celebrate the people and communities leading Chinese for Affirmative Action (CAA) and our half-century movement for civil rights and racial justice.
The Celebration of Justice, our signature fundraising event of the year, provides vital resources for CAA’s ongoing programs and services for racial equity, community safety, immigrant rights, and initiatives such as Stop AAPI Hate.

MICHELLE MIJUNG KIM - EMCEE
Michelle MiJung Kim is the Co-Founder and CEO of Awaken, and the award-winning author of The Wake Up: Closing the Gap Between Good Intentions and Real Change .
RACHEL LASTIMOSA - MUSICIAN
Rachel Lastimosa is a second-generation Ilokana American and interdisciplinary artist whose creative pursuits rest at the intersection of art, culture and wellness. She is the founder of the wellness practice Acts of Self Preservation (AGASAN), which uses movement, sound and visual arts to promote collective healing. You can learn more about her at agasan.org
GENNY LIM - POET
Genny Lim is a writer, performer, and San Francisco Jazz Poet Laureate Emeritus. Her play, Paper Angels was the first Asian American play aired on PBS’s American Playhouse - and has been performed all around the world. Genny has published five poetry collections including Chinese Immigrants on Angel Island, which won the 1980 American Book Award. You can learn more about her at gennylim.ddns.net.
AILEEN CASSINETTO - POET
Aileen Cassinetto is an Academy of American Poets Laureate Fellow and the author of three chapbooks and two poetry collections. Born and raised in the Philippines, Aileen Cassinetto is the first Asian American to be appointed Poet Laureate of San Mateo County. In 2021, she received Special Congressional Recognition for her writing and service. You can learn more about her at aileencassinetto.com
MARISA LIN - POET
Marisa Lin is a first-generation Chinese American who started writing poetry during her senior year at Stanford University. A recent alumna of workshops like the Community of Writers and VONA, Marisa has been published in Ekstasis, Poetry South, and Clerestory. You can learn more about her @marisawrites.
EVA CHEN - POET
Eva Chen is the award-winning poet behind the literary magazine Footprints on Jupiter. A gold medalist at the 2020 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards and the youngest poet to be inducted into the San Mateo Women's Hall of Fame, Eva has been featured in Blue Marble, Elan and The Offing, as well as KALW public radio.
